  • During this interactive workshop participants will explore the ways in which a person can identify and the social identity matrix through activities and group discussions.

By Any Means: Womxn Persevering

  • This presentation discusses the various barriers womxn of color have to overcome to pursue their careers. This presentation explores the specific barriers of (1) being the first, (2) lack of access, (3) gender pay gap, (4), stereotypes, and (5) invisibility.

Inclusive Language

  • We all want to be in a space where we feel respected, accepted, and valued – that often starts with language. The Inclusive Language workshop is designed to help students understand the impact of their words and how they can create an inclusive space that welcomes all through their conversations.

Inclusive Event Planning & Marketing

  • This interactive workshop discusses how to create inclusive programs and marketing strategies to ensure they are able to reach all audiences. During the allotted time participants will have the opportunity to engage in an inclusive programming brainstorm session and discuss how to put their ideas into action.

Terms For Every Ally

  • In this workshop, participants will be introduced to social justice terms and gain an understanding of their own social identities. How a person identifies aligns with how they experience social power as a privileged, border, or targeted social identity. The central idea participants will learn is the Matrix of Social Identities.

  • To increase participants’ knowledge of the definitions and concepts surrounding multiple identities, social power, social groups, privilege, target, border and oppression.

    To increase participants’ understanding of how they personally are woven into the Matrix of Social Identity.

    To increase participants’ understanding of the intersections that occur between systems of oppression.

Face To Face With Oppression

  • In this interactive workshop participants will learn about the framework to describe the five distinct ways that oppression utilizes to target a social identity group. The workshop will conclude with an opportunity for reflection on how participants can combat oppression. The central idea is the five faces of oppression.

  • Introducing participants to concepts of systemic oppression.

    To increase participants’ understanding of how they personally are woven into the Five Faces of Oppression.

    Introduce participants to the concepts of agent, target, and social identity.

All Things Bias

  • During this interactive workshop participants will gain an understanding of how everyone holds implicit bias and ways to combat them. Specifically we will speak about microaggressions and allow for self-reflection on various ways to be inclusive and intergroup dialogue.

  • Introducing participants to concepts of bias, prejudice, and discrimination.

    To increase participants’ understanding of microaggressions and how it can impact an individual of a targeted identity.

    Participants will gain an understanding of the difference between intent vs impact.
