Our Mission

Our mission is to spread knowledge of cultural competency through workshops and presentation facilitation around diversity, equity, and inclusion frameworks. We aim to do this by engaging in intergroup dialogue and educating participants to become change agents while centering the experiences of marginalized communities.

On National Women Supporting Women Day we want to acknowledge all of the women who are fighting sexism, misogynoir, and other forms of discrimination based on gender by supporting other women. Maricella’s Mentor: Dr. Ashley Storman has been a close confidant of Maricella’s since working beside in 2019. Maricella admires Dr. Storman for her consistency and authenticity shown while working in the DEI field. Her mentorship is always encouraging, while also asking critical questions to guide reflection and action steps with any career-related challenges that come along. With the trust built, Dr. Storman has become a member of Maricella’s sounding board. Maricela’s Inspiration: Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) is a Latina in the U.S. House of Representatives, serving NY’s 14th congressional district. Maricella applauds AOC’s authenticity and ferocity when it comes to fighting for the American people. She has been an outstanding public servant that demonstrates the value and impact Latinas can have on American politics. Maricella admires her intelligence, resilience, and focus to keep people informed with marginalized communities’ experiences at the forefront in her legislation work. Chinyere’s Mentor: Dr. Christie Cruise has been Chinyeres mentor since the start of her undergrad career in 2012 and was the very person who introduced her to social justice concepts and helped flourished her passion towards equity. Chinyere is thankful for the wisdom, support, and education that she has received over the years from Dr. Cruise Chinyere’s Role Model: Imani Barbarin is a disability activitst and speaker who uses her voice and social media platforms to create conversations engaging the disability community. Barbarin is a prompent social media influencer that has taught me and others on how ableism effects us all and can worsen other forms of oppression. her intersectional view has taught Chinyere so much and what is means to truely educate others.

Partners making their voice count! Depending on your state you have multiple options available to vote. In our respective states we had absentee, early voting, or voting in-person on Election Day. Chinyere was able to get her vote counted early in Georgia, while Maricella took some time today to head to the polls! Today is the last day to make your vote count!
